NVC is an older cryptocurrency, created in 2013. This crypto was a fork of PPC, and it's a hybrid Proof of Work and Proof of Stake currency. Unfortunately, there's not much else interesting about this coin, and while it has held its value surprisingly well, investors should be aware that there does not seem to be any ongoing development for this coin at this time. While it is possible that someone could pick the project up and begin developing it again, don't bet on it.
The cryptocurrency has some semblance of a community left, but there is little social media presence here. The supply for this asset is however quite low, and it may be worth making a Novacoin investment for the Proof of Stake rewards.
However, investors should be aware that investing in a coin or token with no development team could be risky. Especially if problems arise with the software as there will be nobody there to fix them unless a community member steps up to handle the code, and there may not be anyone willing to do so at this point.

Investors can buy Novacoin on only a handful of exchanges, but there's plenty of trading volume here to support a trade. The volume is actually surprisingly healthy, and you can even make a trade in multiple trading pairs including Bitcoin and US Dollars. Either of these pairs has enough volume to support a trade, so you can easily take your pick.
In order to properly store your coins, you'll need to download the wallet from the official website for the currency. They have made available installation packages for Windows and Linux. Once you download and install the correct file, it's important to encrypt and backup your wallet immediately upon installation. There are lots of ways you can lose your coins, and having a strong password and a reliable backup are two of the best ways to protect yourself from both theft and accidental losses.
