Your DAEX investment will open up an interesting new chapter in the world of cryptocurrency trading. They have created their own settlement layer that will allow for centralized exchanges to more safely clear trades, while still allowing investors to hold assets in their own wallets.
This crypto doesn't actually handle any trades like a decentralized exchange would do, it leaves that to bigger partners. It only facilitates the settlement. This allows for maximum safety and maximum liquidity.
It seems like a win for everyone, but these centralized exchanges may be hesitant to give up control of their settlements. They may, however, be forced to cave. These wallets are not connected to the internet, limiting their chances of being compromised. In any case, be sure to back up your wallet file or seed in the case of loss, theft or destruction of your host device.
