This is an odd project in that it's not so much its own project, but one to be used aside another. If you plant to make a Callisto Network investment, then you are actually investing in the betterment of the Ethereum Classic blockchain.
CLO is working to address many problems that plague the current blockchain, and when they are done they will actually be applicable to both chains. This includes endeavors such as upping the security of smart contracts, which currently have no reliable audit measures or security protocols.
CLO will also address the scaling issues that not only Ethereum, but also Ethereum classic currently have. This is done via side chains which they will actually borrow from other projects instead of creating their own. The platform creators have also implemented a cold staking mechanism meant to reward long-term holders. This is not actually a proof of stake protocol, but just a means of accruing interest on holdings.

Investors can only buy Callisto Network on a small number of exchanges. This can be troubling, because if these exchanges decide to delist the asset or are shut down, then it could leave this coin without a home. This can have detrimental effects on the price, and investors should be cautious. While the exchange selection is paltry, there is enough volume here to facilitate a trade. Bitcoin is the most viable trading pair available, but there is a little liquidity in the US Dollar Tether pair as well. Investors should be cautious when utilizing low volume pairs however as you could end up paying more than the fair market value for the privilege.
You'll need to visit the project's official website to find a wallet that you can store your assets in. The easiest option though it to use Coinomi's mobile wallet. This wallet allows investors to store multiple currencies in one wallet, and it's the easiest way to go if you don't want to keep track of a ton of wallets. Make sure to always make a back up in case your host device is lost, stolen or damaged. This will be the only way to restore access to your funds in the event of a disaster.
